Day 35 - Chaiyaphum to Buriram

Left Chaiyaphum at 11.30am and moved southwards on highway 205 and turned eastwards into highway 201 which leads to Korat. The ride on flat and straight roads was boring and uneventful.

I reached Korat at 1.45pm and took a good break and had BBQ ribs and iced mocca at 'Steak BKK restaurant'. Lunch is finger licking good today. Cost: 174B

After lunch, I continued eastwards on highway 226 and reached Buriram at 5pm. Rode around town for awhile before finding a nice place to stay for the next 2 nights. 'Ploy resort' for 540B a night. The room is beautiful and I get my own parking space right in front of my room door. Good for me to do bike inspection and servicing tomorrow.

I'm convinced now the the hotels in my gps system are all crap. Totally disappointing. I now prefer to ride around town and do a visual scan of the town before selecting a place to stay.

7pm went out to ride around town and found the local night market after much effort. If you think the moat around Chiangmai or korat is big, wait till you see the one at Buriram. It's like a fortess.

While I was having my pork trotters for dinner, a group of students suddenly appeared and started singing and dancing. it turns out that they are seeking donation for the flood victims.

Went for drinks at 'Hi Jack pub' which is just about 200m from my hotel before going back to sleep half drunk.

Expenses:

Hotel - 540B
Petrol - 200B
F&B - 230B
Entertainment - 360B
